Anything but easy. Harder than heck to get the drip connectors into the distribution line, line collapses, they don’t “pop” in like other stuff I’ve worked with or the end that goes in breaks off. If you manage to get them in, 1/2 of them leak. Get your blowtorch or boiling water ready so when installing elbows, t’s and connections so you can warm the lines so they’ll slip in. The end clamp pieces for the drip line are junk, every 3rd one breaks. The only easy part so far was the faucet connection and the Amazon delivery.

I have free range chickens. I had a specific call I used to call them in. However that no longer works. Same when I tried another call. Now I just make up any call I can imagine...I alternate, LOL. Sometimes it's, "Heeeerrree Piggy Piggy Piggy, Soooo Pig Sooooie" ! Or "Here Puppies...Here Puppy puppies" ! And here they come a running. 🤣😆 And anything else I can throw in there...And it works ROFL 🤣 But I do have a question though. I notice you have dogs. How do you keep them from eating chicken poop ? My dogs are always finding the chicken poop and eating it. I try to keep them from eating it. Sometimes I can catch them before they do.

#9 is crucial! I had all 4 of mine removed, and had to go to the pharmacy after the procedure to get the prescriptions. I waited over an hour in pain and discomfort. I’m shocked they didn’t call in the medications ahead of time for their patients. Was horrible

You likely have pergo outlast+ floors. These are approved by the manufacturer for steam mopping. Mileage may vary for those with xp+. These are the ones that are not waterproof and have unsealed edges. You can tell the difference because your plank edges are sloped. XP+ doesn't have sloped edges.

All have done well excepy my ladt strawberry order but it was super late in the sping and already pretty hot so they just didnt "take". I use MIGARDNER m9re than any other because you can try a new variety without a big investment. I mean who needs 60 of ANYTHING?? I would rather get 25 for $2. I also have ordered from baker and botanical interest. They are fine. I dont like the oversized seed packages from baker. And none have resealable flaps EXCEPT migardner. For me it is a must. You have to literally tear off the end i Of the botanical interest often tearing info printed on the pack. I've also bought from etsy seller SEED CULT She has some rare items and are pretty affordable. But it took quite awhile for my order just to ship and my order was wrong. So i wont be ordering again. Avoid Seed Nerds , they say they are a CA based company but they ship from china. It takes forever and im NOT planting seeds from outside the US. I complained but they dont care.

Chickens are great, but be prepared to invest in predator-proof infrastructure. And make the area mouse/rat proof as much as you can. Everything wants to eat chicken, so you have to make the coop (at least, if not the run), dig proof, climb proof, tear proof, and safe from air attacks. I also do some free-ranging of my chickens, but under semi-supervision. I don't let them into the vege garden generally, because they will destroy/dig up young plants, other plants they will eat. But letting them loose into the matured pumpkin patch is fine. Oh, my chickens all have names, and therefore are off the menu. That's the rule. They are basically my "pets with benefits", so any output from the rear end is utilized. Just cleaned out the coop today, and the manure went straight onto the fallow garden bed, and the chickens have access to that to turn it all over.

Northern WI homesteader here. I ordered some apple and peach trees from Stark Bros last year. All survived the winter and look great this year, especially one of my peaches. I bought plum trees from Gurney's. They look terrible, and didnt look great when they showed up. I think we will replace them next year. I bought from Fedco Trees this year. They are a reasonable price. My apple trees are all looking awesome. I had probably 3/4 of my strabwrries take off (it's been sooooo wet). Also, my grape vine is doing awesome. I won't order from Gurney's again, but the other two are on the list for next year!

I live in Central Florida and it gets pretty bad here. With some shade, cold fresh water, a mister with a hose and frozen treats they do pretty good making it through. I definitely keep them restricted in the summer vs the winter. They just pant way too much. It's always a challenge here. Thanks for sharing your tips ❤

Mine started laying at ~21 weeks old. Last fall I had a silkie hen go broody and I just let her do her thing, she hatched 2 silkies and a brahmin/silkie hybrid; all hens by some dumb luck. 7 weeks ago more chicks hatched (2 silkies and a brahmin/silkie hybrid again). Regarding not letting them free range out of safety, get a dummy garden owl and place it on top of your chicken coop to deter hawks.

The difference between drip tape and brown tubing is that drip tape can only go straight up and down cannot go around or bend vs brown tubing you can make go around a plant and in circles etc..

I hatched my first chicks this year too! I used a $40 incubator off of Amazon and hatched 4/12. Three of my eggs ended up not being fertile, but I still didn’t have a great hatch rate! In the future I would definitely invest in a better incubator. It looked so cramped when the chicks were hatching-I can’t even imagine how it would’ve looked if they all hatched!

One of my Silkie mamas is currently raising her hatched white leghorn babies. 😍😍😍 I have given away so many Silkie roosters that I’m now gathering Silkie eggs as fast as I can to deter more babies. They are a sweet little pet, mine are somewhat snuggly, but I’m not going to go into another generation. When these are gone…I’m done. I’ll miss my bucket therapy in the Silkie pen but they are really high maintenance. Blessings, debby

Love hatching baby chicks! We've had the best results with our brinsea incubator. 100% hatch rate twice in a row! In our old incubator it was about 70%-80%.

I have a Pro Series Farm Inovator incubator as well. Had it for about 4 years, and l still love it. I got some eggs going into mine soon, too 😊

We had 7 chicks hatch with two broody hens and it is so fun to watch the interaction between mamas and chicks. They do all the work! I’ve decided to get future chicks through broody hens vs hatching in an incubator. But if you don’t have a rooster, then the incubator option is great! 😊🐣
